Habitat

Dit werk is een pleidooi voor de Bengaalse tijger die hoofdzakelijk in de mangrove bossen van Sundarbans (Bangladesh–Indië) leeft. Zowel klimaat (het zeeniveau stijgt) als de aanwezigheid van de mens vormt een bedreiging voor dit prachtige dier. De Indische populatie groeit enorm en zo wordt de leefwereld van de tijgers alsmaar kleiner. Daarenboven wordt het dier afgemaakt voor zijn pels en zogenaamde medicijnen.

Ik zou het heel erg spijtig vinden dat ook deze tijger (er zijn er al meer uitgestorven) verdwijnt en hoop dat de nodige maatregelen worden getroffen om dit te voorkomen.

This artwork is a passionate plei for the preservation of the Bengal Tiger. This beautiful animal lives in the mangroves of the Sundarbans (shared between Bangladash and India). They are the only mangrove forests where tigers are found. The Sundarbans are increasingly treathened by sea level rise as a result of climat change.

Due to Indian population growth, the habitat of the tiger is shrinking.

Furthermore this unfortunate animal is killed for his fur and so-called medicin.

It makes me very sad to see this tiger becoming extinct so I do hope people will do the necessary to prevent this.

Herrezen

Ik hoop dat men niet te hard schrikt van dit werk, ik heb er al mijn vuur in gelegd 😉. Gewoonlijk schilder ik met iets rustige kleuren maar nu voelde ik het anders aan.

De Feniks is één van de bekendste symbolen van de wedergeboorte, de wederopstanding van de mens en de onsterfelijke ziel.
Elke keer opnieuw verrijst hij uit zijn eigen as door de zuiverende en transformerende werking van het vuur.
Het is een mythologisch dier waarvan niemand echt weet hoe het eruit ziet, dat maakt het juist interessant om vorm aan te geven. 

Voor mij symboliseert dit werk het afsluiten van een fase in het leven: we laten vastgeroeste emoties en gewoontes los en gaan met vernieuwde kracht voluit nieuwe uitdagingen aan. Dit kan op alle momenten (meermaals) in je leven gebeuren, er staat geen leeftijd op. Loslaten en opnieuw beginnen, vol vertrouwen en met liefde in het hart... hoe kan het dan misgaan? 😄

Resurrection

Please do not be startled by the color temperature of this art work, I got very enthusiastic about the colors (especially red and orange).😉 This is not my usual colour palette, it was just the way I felt... full of fire...

Phoenix is one of the most known symbols of rebirth, resurrection and the immortal soul. He arises from this own ashes, transformed and purified by the fire. Since Phoenix is a mythological creature, therefore very challenging to give shape.

To me this artwork respresents the end of a certain phase in life: we can let go old habits and blocked emotions to accept new challenges. It can happen at any age or moment in our life and more than once.
With confidence and love in our heart, we start all over again... how can it go wrong? 😄
